About The Position

The General Manager fosters an environment for safe and profitable operations through planning and oversight. General Managers set the strategic goals in coordination with the President or Vice President, and work with Senior and Project Managers to execute on them. Relationship management with clients and networking within the industry are other key objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience following all safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Experience identifying and communicating workplace hazards and correcting or seeking assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Experience directing and overseeing operations in the region ensuring team goals are aligned with corporate and divisional goals.
  • Understanding external customer needs and maintaining and developing relationships.
  • Experience ensuring that every project is managed to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Experience building and sustaining relationships with clients and general/sub-contractors, both while on the job and through networking.
  • Experience in executing troubled project recovery plans in conjunction with senior managers and project teams.
  • 5-10 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Willing to relocate.

  • In field experience in civil excavation or highway paving.
