The General Manager will be responsible for directing landscape foremen and crews, ensuring operational work standards are met, and fostering a fun, supportive work environment. This role involves managing employee relations, developing departmental budgets, coordinating purchases, and overseeing the implementation of new administrative systems. The General Manager will also be involved in creating training programs, collaborating on special projects, and ensuring work schedules align with priorities, crew availability, and weather conditions. A key aspect of the role is monitoring residential estates to ensure instructions and design plans are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained, while also executing operating procedures for adequate performance and personnel safety. Collaboration with other departments such as Design, Administration, and Production is essential. The position requires inspecting completed work for conformance to specifications and standards, and training/coaching laborers on landscape techniques and consistent practices. Additionally, the General Manager will manage landscape equipment service, repair, and inventory, including scheduling truck and trailer maintenance.
