About The Position

This role involves operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking phone orders, inventory management, and cleaning. It requires strong communication skills for interacting with customers and coworkers, both verbally and in writing. Essential functions include accurate mathematical calculations for monetary transactions, order processing via computer or touchscreen, and navigational skills for deliveries. The role also involves exposure to varying weather conditions, in-store temperature fluctuations, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical requirements include prolonged standing, walking, occasional sitting for paperwork, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying various items including pizzas and beverages, pushing/pulling trays on dollies, infrequent climbing of stairs or ladders, bending at the waist, occasional crouching/squatting, and continuous reaching. Driving is a key component, requiring a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle for deliveries within a designated area. The position also demands maintaining cost controls, inventory control, cash control, and excellent customer relations, while strictly adhering to all company policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include staffing, paperwork, food management, working according to a schedule, maintaining store image and standards, marketing, and ensuring profitability.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
  • Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
  • Standing for most tasks.
  • Walking for short distances for short durations.
  • Delivery personnel must travel between the store and delivery vehicle and from the delivery vehicle to the customer's location.
  • Lifting bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) and stacking onto shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 pounds), and trays of pizza dough (approx. 12 pounds per tray).
  • During delivery, carry pizzas and beverages while performing "walking" and "climbing" duties.
  • Pushing to move trays on dollies (up to 7.5 pounds force).
  • Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
  • During delivery of product, navigation of five or more flights of stairs may be required.
  • Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking ingredients.
  • Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.
  • Reaching is performed continuously; up, down and forward.
  • Eye-hand coordination is essential.
  • Use of hands is continuous during the day.
  • Frequently activities require use of one or both hands.
  • Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists.
  • Manipulate a pizza peel when removing pizza from the oven, and when using the rolling cutter.
  • Frequent and/or forceful pinching is required in the assembly of cardboard pizza boxes.
  • Must be able to grasp cans, the phone, the pizza cutter and pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
  • Valid driver's license with safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
