About The Position

JLL is seeking a General Manager (GM) to join their Office Property Management team. This role focuses on providing an experiential approach to property management, supporting business growth, developing people, supporting ambitions beyond the workplace, and applying new technology and data to drive change. The General Manager will be the primary strategic business leader for two Class A trophy properties in NYC, responsible for all aspects of operation, construction oversight, tenant and guest satisfaction with a focus on hospitality, team management, and financial performance. The role requires a high level of sophistication in commercial management and experience in providing superior service. The GM will execute business plans to maximize tenant satisfaction and profitability, be flexible in a changing environment, motivate teams, build strong client relationships, and provide performance analysis. Responsibilities include preparing budgets, financial reports, managing Tl and/or capital improvement projects, and staff development. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, collaboration, and fostering an inclusive environment. The ideal candidate is people-focused, with strong communication and relationship management skills for seamless conflict resolution and client retention.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (5-7) years of commercial property management experience including recent experience managing office property
  • Must have strong financial acumen and experience preparing budgets, CAM reconciliations, and other types of related financial reports
  • Familiarity with building systems, lease negotiation, documentation, and administration
  • NY Real Estate License (required within the first six months of employment)
  • Experience using a property management accounting platform, such as Yardi, Kardin or MRI is required
  • Both verbal and written communication skills are vital and, of course, you'll be good at establishing relationships with all levels of the organization & external clients.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of technology tools and continually seek opportunities to develop your skillset.
  • Proven track record of results as we'll expect you to act decisively, think big, and manage your time to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and advanced degree a plus
  • Previous skills in designing and deploying a concierge level of service with a focus on hospitality and customer satisfaction is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, construction oversight including tenant and guest satisfaction with a focus on hospitality, team management and financial performance.
  • Execute the business plan designed to maximize property tenant satisfaction and profitability.
  • Be highly flexible in a constantly changing operating environment including how the work is completed as well as communication with tenants, guests, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Motivate the team to deliver consistent results despite challenging operating environment.
  • Build strong rapport with the Client/Owner through proactive and on-going communication; keep Owner informed of initiatives, projects, and tenant experiences.
  • Provide Owner with analysis of property performance, incorporating tenant, financial and employee business data.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of client and tenant satisfaction.
  • Prepare budgets and financial reports, managing Tl and/or capital improvement projects, and developing staff.
  • Contribute to the establishment and refinement of work quality, cultural initiatives and best practices to drive results as a team.
  • Contribute to developing successful, diverse teams through inclusive and thoughtful means of communication.
