About The Position

Starwood Hotels is seeking a General Manager for its Treehouse Hotels brand. This role is for a proven thought leader, an experienced innovator, true tastemaker, and hospitality guru who is energetic, exuberant, and impeccably spoken. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s daily operations, from maximizing ROR to going above and beyond to fulfill specific guest requests. This role will also play a key part in supporting the Guidance Team's objectives and representing the brand. A core responsibility is to foster a positive and healthy work environment that is constantly evolving, improving employee work-life balance and providing a life outside of work.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in operating a lifestyle property.
  • Leadership skills including the ability to articulate a strong vision for the hotel, embed values, narrate progress and direction, and lead the team.
  • Strong people manager and developer with the ability to positively influence others, develop a strong and cohesive team, and create a culture focused on delivering the highest levels of customer scores and online reputation.
  • Visibility in property with both guests and team members to anticipate opportunities and challenges.
  • Ability to think independently and understand the difference between autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong business acumen with a proven track record of delivering across key business metrics and a balanced scorecard.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of all commercial and financial aspects of hotel operations.
  • Proven track record in developing, rolling out, and operating successful concepts.
  • A highly driven and dynamic attitude with a passion for hospitality.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, verbally, in writing, and in presentation mode.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive related work experience in an upper upscale and/or luxury hotel environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a General Manager in an upper upscale and/or lifestyle hotel.
  • Expert in hotel operations.
  • Strong leader with a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
  • Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
  • Flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
