The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of store operations and merchandising to ensure financial efficiency, inventory control, customer service, proper merchandise presentation, Associate morale and other duties as assigned. The General Manager directly supervises the Assistant Store Manager, Human Resources Manager, Loss Prevention Manager and Promotions Manager, and indirectly all other Managers in the Store. This role involves opening and closing the store, ensuring adequate staffing with service-oriented associates, participating in interviewing and selection, coordinating training, participating in new hire orientation, preparing/approving performance appraisals, recommending merit/promotional increases, approving weekly work schedules, and coaching/motivating associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment. The General Manager supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. They are responsible for meeting or exceeding all financial plans set by the Company, controlling company assets and financial efficiency by auditing reports, journals, physical inventory, and procedures to ensure system integrity, monitoring and controlling cash management, and controlling the Store's Operating account. This role also involves maintaining all Merchandising directives from the Corporate Office and all Marketing & Advertising strategies in the Store, executing all Sales/Payroll plans as directed by the Company, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment and facility for all associates and customers. The General Manager resolves customer and associate issues and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring & training, planning, assigning and directing work, measuring and evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Additionally, the role requires providing a legendary experience for every customer by assisting them in making buying decisions, identifying and evaluating customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC and In-Store Pick-up. ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
