About The Position

Wheely is launching in Los Angeles and is seeking a General Manager to lead this expansion. The General Manager will be responsible for building the founding team, securing the fleet and chauffeurs, establishing operations, and preparing for the initial launch. Post-launch, this role will own the P&L and brand presence in Los Angeles, overseeing service standards, growth, client relations, partnerships, and team management. This position reports directly to the CEO and collaborates with the US expansion team. The role is crucial for Wheely's accelerated US rollout, capitalizing on Los Angeles' status as a major luxury and entertainment hub, with significant upcoming events like the Super Bowl in 2027 and the LA Olympics in 2028. The ideal candidate is an experienced operator who has successfully launched or scaled a market before, can move quickly while maintaining high standards, and has at least seven years of operating experience. Backgrounds in investment banking or consulting are considered a plus, but hands-on operating experience is essential. Los Angeles residency is a requirement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM or Economics from a leading university
  • Minimum 7 years of total experience, including 5+ years in either high-growth tech, investment banking, strategy consulting, VC or private equity
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Based in Los Angeles

Nice To Haves

  • Backgrounds in investment banking or consulting are a plus, but not a substitute for hands-on operating experience.

Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for Los Angeles
  • Manage the offline product: pricing, availability and fleet composition
  • Oversee four local teams: Driver Operations, Quality & Training (Chauffeur Academy), Sales (Wheely for Business), and Marketing
  • Develop and execute launch and expansion strategy across Los Angeles and surrounding markets
  • Drive business development, identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities for growth and partnerships
  • Collaborate with the central Product team on the passenger and chauffeur experience
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategy, navigating California's licensing and compliance landscape
  • Serve as the external representative for press, partnerships, and key stakeholder engagement
