Requirements

5+ years of experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager in a full-service hotel environment
Union leadership experience required
Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L statements, budgets, forecasts, and business plans
Proven ability to lead teams, drive results, and elevate performance
Hands-on leadership style with a passion for hospitality and guest experience
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

Marriott brand experience strongly preferred
Experience in lifestyle or upscale independent/branded hotel environments highly valued

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of hotel operations with a focus on guest satisfaction, financial performance, and team engagement
Inspire and develop a high-performing leadership team across all departments
Drive revenue, profitability, and market positioning through strategic planning and execution
Ensure operational excellence across product quality, service delivery, and Marriott brand standards
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Build strong relationships with ownership, community partners, and key stakeholders
Lead within a union environment, ensuring positive labor relations, contract compliance, and productive team engagement
Act as the face of the hotel—both internally and in the local San Diego market
