About The Position

We are looking for a General Manager who leads by example, builds trust and accountability, develops people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and makes data-driven decisions. This role involves working with the Divisional Vice President on pricing strategies, assessing company strengths and weaknesses, managing P&L responsibilities, and implementing company policies and procedures. The General Manager will provide leadership, motivate employees, evaluate performance, and coordinate marketing and sales efforts. This includes analyzing costs, reviewing operations, and performing cost/benefit analyses for inventory control and throughput. The role also involves preparing annual sales and expense budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Divisional Vice President to determine the best pricing strategy to meet monthly expectations and annual budgets.
  • Travel throughout the district to assess the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, competition, and develop customer relationships.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities throughout the organization and have direct P&L responsibilities.
  • Administer company policies and procedures and coordinate all divisional departmental activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all processes are implemented effectively and review existing data, trends, and staffing to improve efficiency.
  • Provide leadership to the organization, including the motivation of employees to accomplish planned results by coordinating team building, effective-decision making, time management, recognition, discipline, and conflict resolution.
  • Evaluate the performance results of the staffing and promote organizational and employee development through effective hiring, development, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate and direct the marketing and sales department by traveling with district sales representatives and implementing the market strategy for each territory.
  • Gather the strength, weaknesses, and external factors of the market, existing customers, and competition.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of customer relationships of the major accounts through district sales representatives and other market activities.
  • Analyze internal and external costs and make effective decisions to maximize profitability and/or continue growth in areas as directed in the marketing/sales plan.
  • Review operations, processing, sales, and transportation activities and resolve company issues to ensure minimum costs, prevent operational delays, and to meet future growth.
  • Perform cost/benefit analyses for improvement of inventory control and throughput, including the evaluation of the movement of inventory and to analyze company inventory to maximize company profitability and customer requirements.
  • Review and approve accounting analysis reports for budgetary planning, sales, operations, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare annual sales and expense budgets to meet the company’s goals and objectives.
