About The Position

The General Manager runs a market as a business, overseeing the investment lifecycle from renovation through turn and ensuring spending delivers strong yield. This is a hands-on, in-market role, with approximately 75% of time spent in the field scoping homes, conducting quality checks, and leading training and audits, and 25% on reporting, coordination, and administrative work. The General Manager serves as the fund’s representative in the market, assesses homes, resolves construction and operational issues, and drives performance across cost, quality, and speed. The role involves financial decision-making, building effective teams, and keeping the market lean and profitable. The General Manager owns property turns, maintenance, and operations; maximizes net operating income; manages costs, vendors, and margins; uses data to guide daily decisions; collaborates with centralized teams and the Regional General Manager; and leads employees, vendor crews, and market partners. Success is measured by cost-to-complete accuracy, cycle time and backlog elimination, margin and yield, quality and tenant satisfaction, and field execution.
