About The Position

Tishman Speyer is seeking an experienced hospitality leader to serve as General Manager of the Chrysler Building. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of the world’s most iconic and recognized commercial properties while delivering a best-in-class guest experience to customers, visitors and stakeholders. You will lead a high-performing, service-oriented team, elevating the standard of operational excellence and hospitality with the goal of providing the highest quality experience to establish and foster long-term customer relationships. You will work with key Senior Management stakeholders to develop and execute asset plans aligned with the overall investment strategy. In addition, this role will play a critical leadership role in the planning, coordination, and execution of the Chrysler Building’s redevelopment, partnering closely with Asset Management, Design & Construction, Leasing, and ownership stakeholders to reposition the asset as a best-in-class property and deliver the long-term vision for this iconic asset. The successful candidate will bring a hospitality mindset, a wealth of operational and financial expertise and the ability to successfully lead a matrixed team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in luxury hospitality operations or facilities management, including oversight of large teams and high-profiles properties.
  • Deep understanding of guest experience best practices, luxury service standards and experiential operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Financial management and business operations experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel between floors and buildings in order to effectively communicate with the team and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Property Management and Maintenance teams with a hospitality-first philosophy, delivering seamless and elevated experiences throughout the property.
  • Champion and curate customer touchpoints- from lobby experience to amenity activation-with a focus on personalization, white-glove service, and community engagement in addition to traditional operations management.
  • Understand business needs and leverage our platform to solve real estate challenges.
  • Coordinate unique ZO. event programming with a focus on creating and maintaining a community atmosphere.
  • Partner with Asset Management on various projects as determined by regional leaders and/or Managing Director.
  • Responsible for the relationship between Owner and Property Management Agreement(s).
  • Collaborate with the Leasing Team on all aspects, inclusive of marketing, relationship management and advertising campaigns.
  • Responsible for City agency registrations and maintaining DOB, HPD, DOL, and 3rd party relations.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to ensure all corporate objectives, policies and standards are met.
  • Develop direct reports through mentoring.
  • Identify growth potential and set objectives to achieve career advancement.
  • Lead property operations in support of the Chrysler Building multi-million-dollar redevelopment, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution of redevelopment initiatives while maintaining operational excellence and an exceptional customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Own the annual operating budget and capital plan, including forecasting, variance analysis, reporting and presentation to internal stakeholders and partners.
  • Budget management and financial reporting for profit and loss variances, quarterly reforecasting, and investor reports.
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Oversee the management of third-party maintenance contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Facilitate pre-built, landlord-built, customer-built projects, and drawing reviews.
  • Direct all base building capital and major repair and maintenance projects; track and manage finances for projects.
  • Collaborate with the Design & Construction team with building projects and customer communications.
