About The Position

We are seeking a high-impact General Manager to lead and grow a $15M service operation in the Charlotte market. This role is responsible for full P&L ownership, operational excellence, and building a high-performing, customer-focused team in a fast-paced, competitive environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on driving revenue, developing people, and scaling operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a B2C and/or B2B service environment
  • Proven success managing and growing a fast-paced service-based business
  • Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, or skilled trades operations
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability goals
  • Experience managing mid-sized teams (50+ employees) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High level of financial acumen and analytical ability
  • Ability to motivate teams and drive performance
  • Skilled in strategic planning, forecasting, and operational execution
  • Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Trade license (Plumbing, HVAC, etc.) preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed (some overnight travel required)
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L responsibility for a multi-division service operation (sales, service, and installation)
  • Develop and execute annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic growth plans
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion through new programs and initiatives
  • Build and foster a culture of accountability, performance, and exceptional customer experience
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 60–70 employees, including field and office staff
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, processes, and operational standards
  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement corrective action plans quickly
  • Partner with field leadership to optimize safety, sales performance, and operational efficiency
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, training, and performance management across the organization
  • Maintain strong awareness of market trends and competitors to stay ahead in the industry
  • Direct oversight of management staff and team performance
  • Set clear expectations, assign priorities, and drive accountability across all functions
  • Conduct performance reviews, compensation planning, and employee development initiatives
  • Build a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Champion a safety-first culture across all operations
  • Ensure compliance with all safety programs, training, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct regular training sessions and safety meetings
