Requirements

  • Strategic thinking skills.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and club point of sale systems.
  • Understanding of Club financials.
  • Thorough working knowledge of all departments of a club’s operation.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; Hospitality Management major preferred.
  • Maintains membership with the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) and other professional associations.
  • Attends conferences, workshops, and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
  • Experience as a Clubhouse Manager or Assistant General Manager.
  • Management of complex capital projects required.
  • Experience working with volunteer committees preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, supervision, and guidance to staff in accordance with Bobby Jones Links expectations and company culture to promote positive employee morale and performance quality.
  • Assist in the preparation of the club’s annual budget and hold all departments accountable for reaching their monthly and annual financial goals.
  • Oversee approved capital improvements to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Complete all required club and Bobby Jones Links weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including Dashboard, pace reports, membership reports, variance analysis, and general ledger review.
  • Review the general ledger regularly to ensure correct coding.
  • Delegate support center-specific and club-specific tasks to department heads and obtain responsibility for tasks as needed.
  • Hold weekly department head staff meetings and distribute minutes and action items.
  • Ensure the club operates in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Participate in selected community activities to enhance the club's prestige and fulfill public obligations.
  • Handle emergencies promptly and document all major incidents in an Incident Report.
  • Attend club major events and functions.
  • Ensure the club website is up to date.
  • Hire and train key department heads.
  • Ensure all I-9 paperwork, e-verify, and onboarding are completed within three days of an associate’s hire date.
  • Follow all State, Federal, and Bobby Jones Links’ rules regarding human resources, including hiring and firing, discrimination, and harassment policies.
  • Manage club cash flow and establish controls to safeguard funds.
  • Set the standard for effective management and demonstrate a concern for staff supervision and development.
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of all the club’s physical assets and facilities.
  • Coordinate marketing and member-relations programs to promote the club’s services and facilities.
  • Ensure the highest standards for food, beverage, sports and recreation, entertainment, and other club services.
  • Establish and monitor compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Review and initiate programs to provide members with a variety of popular events.
  • Serve as liaison between management staff, Bobby Jones Links, and ownership.
  • Maintain relations with police, fire, liquor control board, health department, and other governmental agencies.
  • Direct purchasing, receiving, storage, issuing, preparation, and control of all products, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation of all club facilities and environments.
  • Perform competitive analyses on clubs and other businesses.
  • Oversee risk management programs to ensure adequate safety measures are in place.
  • Handle emergencies such as fires, accidents, and breaches of security promptly.
  • Emphasize prevention through training, inspection, and preventive enforcement.
  • Perform public speaking at meetings and events.
