$85,000 - $105,000Onsite

About The Position

Accucare is a trusted, family-owned home medical equipment (DME/HME) provider based in Asheville, NC, serving 20 counties across Western North Carolina. For nearly two decades, we have specialized in respiratory care (including hard-to-find infant and pediatric solutions), sleep therapy, oxygen systems, DME, orthotics, and related supplies. We are ACHC-accredited and known for compassionate, high-touch service that patients and referral partners count on. We are looking for an experienced DME/HME operations leader—someone who has run warehouse, fulfillment, delivery, and equipment-management functions in this industry—to step in as General Manager. This is not a clinical-office or front-desk management role. We need someone who understands the full DME supply chain: intake and inventory control, equipment cleaning/turnaround, delivery routing and logistics, technician scheduling, purchasing, and DME-specific billing and compliance (Medicare/Medicaid DMEPOS, ACHC accreditation standards, HME payer requirements). You will shape the culture, systems, and results of a local company that makes a real difference in patients' lives—especially the most vulnerable (infants, children, and adults with complex respiratory needs). You'll work closely with the Owner while leading a multidisciplinary team, with real authority to improve warehouse and delivery operations, tighten inventory and equipment-turnaround processes, and strengthen compliance and service standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the DME/HME industry, specifically including warehouse, inventory, equipment logistics, or delivery operations management.
  • Solid working knowledge of DME billing, DMEPOS compliance, and payer/accreditation requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, ACHC)
  • Demonstrated experience managing warehouse staff, delivery technicians, and equipment fleets or inventory systems
  • Proven ability to organize, plan, and lead teams—plus the judgment to make timely, sound decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and a track record of maintaining accurate inventory, delivery, and compliance records
  • Solid computer proficiency (spreadsheets, word processing, internet research and tools; DME/HME software experience a plus)
  • A leadership style that balances accountability with development and high standards of patient care

Nice To Haves

  • DME/HME software experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee warehouse operations: inventory control, equipment intake/cleaning/refurbishment, stock levels, and supply chain/purchasing decisions
  • Manage delivery and logistics operations, including scheduling, routing, and fleet/equipment readiness across a 20-county service area
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and direct the team (Payroll/Admin, Purchasing, Customer Care, Billing, Sales & Marketing, Respiratory Care, and DME Technicians/Warehouse staff)
  • Build and run internal systems that measure, assess, and continuously improve operational and warehouse performance
  • Ensure consistently high-quality patient service paired with efficient equipment delivery and turnaround
  • Lead regular supervisor meetings, conduct annual performance evaluations, and set clear goals with follow-through
  • Partner with the Owner to develop the annual budget and actively manage expenses, including equipment inventory and fleet costs
  • Serve as Compliance Officer and Performance Improvement Coordinator—maintain full DMEPOS regulatory and ACHC accreditation compliance, implement best practices, and participate in surveys and inspections
  • Delegate effectively while remaining accountable for results
  • Contribute to company committees, in-service education, and your own continuing professional development
