About The Position

DH Pace Company, Inc. is seeking a General Manager for its well-established and growing door business in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves leading operations that provide customers with new and replacement doors, as well as repair services for existing doors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial manual and automatic door industry management, with significant operational experience and product knowledge. The General Manager will be responsible for assessing current operations, implementing procedural changes, fostering team building, increasing sales and profitability, and ensuring a high level of customer service. Key responsibilities include scheduling projects, driving revenue growth in new construction, aftermarket, and service work for manual and automatic doors, developing staff, and improving operational efficiency. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing personnel, projects, sales, and customer service expectations, as well as operational revenues, expenses, and reporting in a leadership position.
  • Commercial manual, automatic door, and hardware industry management experience with strong operational experience and product knowledge is strongly encouraged.
  • Service provider industry experience such as HVAC or another construction/building materials business with products sold to end users, installed and/or serviced at customer sites will also be considered.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs and ERP/CRM systems, with a good understanding and use of Excel.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate operational data, processes, procedures, financial results, survey feedback, and other metrics to determine cause/effect relationships and the impact of changes.
  • Ability for technical applications and mechanical systems.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness and availability to train in Phoenix up to seven (7) times during the first 6 months of employment, with trips ranging from 1-day to 5-days each, totaling approximately 1 month in Phoenix.
  • Successful completion of references, employment verifications, background check, and drug screen required in advance of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions with full P&L responsibility.
  • Make recommendations for operational and sales procedural/process improvement changes and implement them to increase customer satisfaction, profit margins, and return on sales.
  • Provide operational and process improvement expertise to personnel, acting as a trusted resource for operational assistance, advice, guidance, and career mentoring.
  • Assist with employee/job scheduling and technical/mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure staff adhere to company best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize division financial reports and metrics for daily operations management.
  • Hire, train, and develop new employees, improving individual performance through coaching, P&L and Scorecard reviews, and annual performance reviews.
  • Lead meetings, set performance expectations, and hold employees accountable.
  • Maintain professional communication with personnel and customers, and resolve personnel matters and escalated customer concerns in a timely manner.
