About The Position

The general manager will be responsible for overseeing front-of-house and back-of-house operations in the establishment and resolving any customer or employee concerns. Candidates should have the following qualifications and be able to fulfill the duties and responsibilities mentioned in this description while following the organization’s core mission and values. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 2-3 years of prior experience as a general manager or kitchen manager at a coffee shop, restaurant, or similar QSR establishment
  • Familiarity with POS systems (Toast, Square, etc.) and kitchen display systems
  • Prior experience in working FOH and BOH
  • Willing to complete training in-house
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and being open to learning about new equipment
  • Experience in planning and budgeting and knowledge of cost and labor operations
  • Experience in managing employees & payroll, overseeing financial operations, and performing the other duties and responsibilities mentioned above
  • Great leadership skills & ability to hire and train front-of-house and back-of-house employees

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or business management is preferred
  • Experience in specialty coffee operations is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the establishment ensuring quality control and inventory management
  • Consult with owners and employees on possible improvement opportunities and create action plans
  • Ensure consistent quality customer experience through proper staffing and execution of food and beverage recipes
  • Maintain cleanliness & ensure proper appearance and safety protocols for the establishment and merchandise
  • Maintain equipment and schedule appointments for equipment maintenance and repair if needed
  • Assist leadership on further menu development and work to make sure organizational values match with kitchen operations
  • Ensure that company policies are implemented and enforced
  • Ensure productivity from employees and help them in their professional development
  • Oversee staff as well as the hiring and training of all front-of-house and back-of-house employees in conjunction with leadership
  • Develop the hiring process and all tangible materials regarding the process in conjunction with leadership
  • Take on the responsibility of scheduling employees and ensuring store coverage while managing labor costs effectively
  • Take on the responsibility of finding replacements for employees who call out
  • Manage payroll and schedule shifts for employees based on availability
  • Conduct timely performance reviews of employees & work with leadership on termination needs
  • Ensure food preparation according to health and safety standards
  • Provide solutions to issues regarding employee and customer concerns
  • Prepare operational reports and collaborate with leadership on new ideas
  • Represent the organization’s mission and values consistently
