About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a General Manager for their Tooling rental facility in Chicago, IL. This role is responsible for managing a team and operations focused on industrial tooling rentals, including power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools. The facility also offers tech-enabled tool tracking, site-wide communication solutions, tool testing, repair, certification, consumables, and industrial supplies. The company utilizes proprietary T3 technology to provide real-time insights into equipment management and operations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years rental industry experience, preferably in a management role
  • Industrial tooling experience / knowledge is highly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to the fast pace of a growing company and stay continuously educated on the latest EquipmentShare products and services

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a team through hiring, training, performance evaluations, and providing guidance.
  • Manage branch operations to maximize financial success, including conducting monthly profit and loss reviews.
  • Monitor key metrics such as equipment utilization, underperforming assets, warranty recovery, billed mechanical hours, aged receivables, and customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively communicate information to the team and management.
  • Establish reasonable and measurable goals with clear expectations for team members.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
