About The Position

Blacksmith is building the fastest cloud for code, serving as the infrastructure layer for running, testing, and fixing software. As AI reduces the cost of code generation, the focus is shifting to efficient, large-scale execution. Every agent workflow requires a fast, isolated environment. This role involves building Blacksmith’s Sandboxes business from the ground up, encompassing product strategy, customer development, go-to-market, pricing, partnerships, adoption, revenue, unit economics, and team-building. It's a zero-to-one opportunity to work directly with founders and the engineering team to establish Blacksmith as the primary execution platform for AI agents and software development. The role offers the experience of building a new infrastructure company, leveraging Blacksmith's existing resources like compute fleet, execution stack, customer base, capital, and distribution.

Requirements

Experience as a founder, an early leader at a developer-infrastructure company, or someone who has built a technical product from zero to significant adoption.
Technical credibility with engineers and technical founders.
Strong capabilities in both product development and go-to-market strategies.
Exceptional ambition and a drive to build something enormous.
Comfort with direct customer engagement, including personal selling and onboarding, especially in the early stages.
High sense of urgency, hands-on approach, and effectiveness in ambiguous environments.
Ability to seamlessly transition between strategy, customer interactions, product decisions, and execution.
Desire to own an entire business rather than a single functional area.
Fluency in developer platforms, distributed systems, workload isolation, infrastructure economics, APIs, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

Develop a clear view of the sandbox market, customers, product, and competitive positioning.
Collaborate directly with early customers building agents and other code-execution products to inform the roadmap.
Establish Blacksmith as the default sandbox provider for AI startups, developer companies, and enterprises.
Build repeatable processes for customer acquisition, onboarding, retention, and expansion.
Manage pricing, packaging, partnerships, adoption, revenue, and unit economics.
Position Blacksmith as the technical and commercial leader in sandbox infrastructure.
Recruit and lead a dedicated cross-functional team.
