About The Position

This position is responsible for directing and training supervisors in all facets including but not limited to production, paperwork, yields, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, and safety problem solving. The role is accountable for areas of performance, safety, quality, workers' compensation, turnover, bid movement, team member morale, and other duties as needed. The primary coverage is second shift, with flexibility required for department coverage as needed. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 plus years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Ability to access all areas of the production floor to conduct audits and inspections, including fixed ladders, stairs, and steps.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, including temperatures ranging from below freezing to summer heat extremes.
  • Team leader, problem-solving, and motivation skills to take on special projects.
  • Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years employment at Tyson or equivalent experience.
  • Rendering experience.
  • Familiarity with processing floor operation.
  • HACCP certification and understanding of basic HACCP principals.
  • Knowledge of pork processing.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and training supervisors in production, paperwork, yields, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, and safety problem solving.
  • Overseeing areas of performance, safety, quality, workers' compensation, turnover, bid movement, and team member morale.
  • Managing all production supervisors, department production schedules, product rotation, and CCP verification schedules.
  • Overseeing the safety committee.
  • Reviewing team members in these roles and developing/improving deficient areas.
  • Conducting audits and inspections on the production floor.
  • Performing CCP monitoring verification.
