About The Position

As a Manager III with America’s Thrift, each day brings challenging and meaningful work in a fast-paced retail and production environment. The Manager III is responsible for inspiring the store leadership team and team members to live out the America’s Thrift mission and values while upholding company culture. In partnership with the District Manager and Store Leadership Team, this role leads the location’s financial and operational performance, including budgeting, financial reporting, profit and loss, donated-product quality, loss prevention, pricing, production, merchandising, customer relations, and community engagement. The Manager III builds a strong team through hiring, training, coaching, succession planning, and development while creating an environment for personal and professional growth.

Requirements

At least 5 years of management experience in a retail, production, logistics, or processing environment, or 2 years of successful, proven thrift management experience.
Basic math and computer skills, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, understand computerized time and attendance systems, and use POS systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Strong focus on maintaining and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Demonstrated ability to embrace change and ambiguity and make sound decisions.
Experience hiring, training, coaching, and developing staff.
Proven ability to inspire and develop store team members to consistently provide exceptional customer service and drive results.
Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills.
Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with peers, direct reports, vendors, customers, and community partners.
Ability to conduct business with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to work with all levels of employees to identify and implement process improvements.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent time management, delegation, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to reliable transportation.
Successful completion of a background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Lead assistant managers as they oversee retail, processing, dock, and other store teams.
Interview and hire candidates for employment with America’s Thrift and identify and recommend team members with proven performance for advancement.
Lead by example to create a culture based on trust, employee development, accountability, and ongoing engagement.
Maintain a strong focus on employee development, bench building, and succession planning to support the continued growth of America’s Thrift.
Ensure team members are trained within designated timeframes on job duties, company expectations, policies, and procedures.
Coach, counsel, and lead assistant managers, supervisors, and team members regarding job performance and, when necessary, administer appropriate corrective action.
Partner with the Asset Protection team and People & Culture Business Partner to investigate incidents involving company property, equipment, personnel, or operations and take appropriate action in coordination with the District Manager.
Use company reports to create and maintain sales floor layouts that maximize sales opportunities.
Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to assistant managers, supervisors, and team members to achieve operational objectives.
Coordinate and ensure the accuracy of deposits and change orders and promptly report cash, register, or operating issues.
Partner with the District Manager and People & Culture Business Partner to report and address workplace concerns, including harassment or EEO-related issues.
Oversee onboarding and orientation and ensure required employment documentation is complete and accurate.
Oversee store operations, resources, budgets, and financial performance to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
Create an atmosphere of ongoing exceptional customer service for internal and external customers, including team members, donors, shoppers, and charity partners.
Manage inventory levels across all merchandise categories and oversee production levels and merchandise quality to optimize revenue generation.
Monitor and ensure the smooth and effective flow of donations in accordance with published standards, safety requirements, security procedures, and applicable regulations.
Maintain high standards for sales floor presentation and merchandising.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and team members and ensure safety and security procedures are consistently followed.
Comply with and enforce company policies, standards, procedures, and values.
