About The Position

Arena Club is seeking a General Manager, New Categories to build and scale a new business from the ground up. Each category launched is a business in its own right, with its own customers, suppliers, economics, and growth story. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and own a business end-to-end, functioning as a founder with the support of a platform. The responsibilities include developing the strategy, building the team, managing inventory, and overseeing the P&L. The primary goal is to launch a category, prove the business model, and scale it into a significant part of the marketplace. The ideal candidate is a builder and a high-agency operator capable of transforming a concept into a growing business with accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 6+ years in high-growth commerce, management consulting, or a comparable field with a strong business and strategy foundation.
  • Experience owning a P&L, including forecasting, margin management, and inventory planning.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling, unit economics, and lifetime-value analysis, with the ability to set clear KPIs.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence across Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance without direct authority.
  • A track record of zero-to-one work, including launching, building, or scaling a business, product, or function from the ground up.
  • Sharp negotiation skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with external partners.
  • A bias toward action and comfort with accountability for outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full economics of multiple new categories, including topline GMV and margin, with the authority to set strategy, direct spend, and determine category direction.
  • Define each category's vision and roadmap from scratch, encompassing market positioning, assortment, price-point strategy, inventory targets, and team performance goals.
  • Build and scale relationships with manufacturers, authorized dealers, and leading secondary-market players, and negotiate deals to ensure a consistent pipeline of high-demand inventory.
  • Hire and develop the team for each category, covering supply chain, marketing, and other essential functions as the business scales.
  • Partner with Marketing to own the acquisition strategy for assigned categories, focusing on new-user growth and brand presence to ensure demand matches supply.
  • Collaborate with Product to design engaging drops and pack experiences, and manage live releases to achieve projected business outcomes.
  • Partner with Operations and Accounting to ensure seamless inventory flow from sourcing through authentication, vaulting, and delivery, and to guarantee flawless customer experiences.
