About The Position
As a General Manager I, you are the captain of our Orlando facility. You will oversee, organize, and drive a line of business generating up to $19 million in revenue. This isn't a "sit behind a desk all day" kind of role. You'll be the champion of our local culture, the mastermind behind our route optimization, and the driving force behind profit and business expansion. You’ll lead a dedicated team of Facility Managers, Sales Professionals, Maintenance Experts, and Administrators, ensuring everyone is moving in the same direction—safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university, or a proven, rock-solid track record of operational leadership.
- 5+ years in the waste/environmental services industry is highly preferred (or an equivalent mix of education and exceptional management experience).
- A sharp analytical mind paired with stellar communication skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Screen, hire, train, and mentor a high-performing team.
- Own the facility’s P&L statement. Analyze financial performance monthly, develop aggressive profit plans (ROA, EBITDA), and partner with sales to forecast future growth.
- Utilize cutting-edge routing software (like Route Smart) and logistics tech to ensure our fleet runs efficiently.
- Implement and champion our premier Safety Program.
- Build exceptional customer relationships, negotiate key contracts, and represent GFL in local civic affairs and community events.
