About The Position

The Canadian Niagara Hotels Group of Companies is seeking a General Manager for its two Fallsview Restaurants: the Fallsview Grand Buffet and the award-winning Massimo’s Italian Fallsview Restaurant. This role reports to the General Manager of the Hotel and is responsible for overseeing food and beverage Front of House operations. The goal is to lead a motivated team to achieve revenue targets, ensure outstanding guest service and satisfaction, maintain Sheraton brand standards, and meet or exceed operating profitability benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Previous accomplished experience managing day-to-day Front of House operations in a comparable 4-diamond resort or equivalent hotel environment, with volumes fluctuating by seasonality.
  • Four or five years of progressive employment in a fine dining restaurant is an asset.
  • Previous experience in both union and non-union work environments.
  • Ability to manage two different restaurant concepts simultaneously (A la carte and Buffet).
  • Excellent communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence Food Beverage staff, as well as to work collaboratively with other hotel and resort managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.

Responsibilities

  • Create, champion, and ensure outstanding and passionate standards of food and beverage product and service for guests at Massimo’s Italian Fallsview Restaurant and the Fallsview Grand buffet, adhering to Company and Brand standards.
  • In collaboration with the Hotel’s Executive Chef, General Manager, and Sales team, develop, recommend, implement, and manage the division’s finalized annual budget and related group business sales plans, adjusted for seasonal business variability.
  • Achieve and/or exceed budgeted revenues and expenses, and maximize profitability for each restaurant through effective staff selection, hiring, scheduling, training, direction (in both union and non-union environments), and upselling of dining products and services.
  • Contribute to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of other hotel departments by maintaining outstanding guest service levels and continuously seeking to improve food and beverage preparation and delivery.
  • Serve as a primary example for all Food and Beverage staff in attention to detail, passionate and responsive guest service, and compliance with resort policies, procedures, and local, provincial, and federal laws.
  • Develop short and long-term financial and operational business plans for the food and beverage department to support the hotel's overall objectives.
