About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a General Manager to lead the continued development of Earth Moving Solutions in California, Arizona, and Nevada. This role involves a broad range of dynamic responsibilities, from hands-on team interaction focused on new product development and design to gathering data and feedback from field-based work, touching all facets of the business. Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • 10 years of experience in EMS related field
  • Business Management degree or equivalent work experience plus at least 5+ years of Rental Industry experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Understanding of P&L and other key financial controls
  • Experience in outside sales or other experience in negotiation and influencing
  • High level of accountability, time management and willingness to learn all aspects of the business

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction or industrial markets helpful

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple rental store locations.
  • Review all contracts daily, including creations, amendments, suspensions, and terminations.
  • Assess the need for purchasing equipment based on feedback from salesmen, rental managers, customer feedback, supplier salesmen, and Marketing Department Product Managers.
  • Assess, modify, and approve the Sales Plan weekly and ensure its appropriate execution.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Review debt collection efforts daily.
  • Ensure Sales Representatives and Customer Service Representatives are aware of slow-moving equipment.
  • Ensure Shop Foremen are aware of all equipment not available for rent.
  • Maintain a presentable state for the Rental Center yard, facility, and staff.
  • Carry out various reporting tasks such as monthly rental income forecasts, daily contract counts, and capital approval requests.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
