About The Position

The General Manager of Construction is responsible for a wide range of functions necessary to successfully manage the construction division. This role oversees departmental budgets, daily operations, and continuous improvement while ensuring a consistently high quality of service in all interactions with customers, clients, subcontractors, resource providers, and company employees involved in construction services. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous construction management experience
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to meet established production goals and maintain profitability
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure customer and client satisfaction
  • Monitor volume of work
  • Develop departmental budgets for General Manager approval
  • Assist in finding and vetting subcontractors
  • Manage all aspects of the construction division
  • Manage daily operations of the construction team
  • Validate potential construction leads
  • Assign leads/projects to construction managers and superintendents
  • Ensure the construction team follows proper work processes
  • Review and evaluate estimates created by construction managers
  • Perform project management tasks to support the construction team as needed (e.g., high-volume periods or large projects)
  • Assist Construction Managers with budgeting and bidding
  • Conduct weekly Work-in-Progress meetings with the construction team
  • Train construction team members
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews with individual construction team members
