About The Position

Pacific Ag Rentals is seeking an entrepreneurial, results-driven General Manager to build and lead our Construction Equipment Rental Division. This is an opportunity to build a new business from the ground up, with full P&L ownership and the backing of an established, multi-state equipment rental company. The General Manager will define the go-to-market strategy, build the team and fleet, establish the operating model, and expand the business across a growing regional footprint. The ideal candidate is a builder who combines commercial judgment and strategic thinking with hands-on execution, financial discipline, and a strong customer focus.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in equipment rental, construction services, or a closely related industry.
  • 3+ years of direct P&L ownership with responsibility for multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • A track record of launching, scaling, or materially improving a business unit, service line, branch network, or regional operation.
  • Strong knowledge of construction equipment applications, specifications, fleet economics, market pricing, and rental operations.
  • Experience using fleet utilization data, financial models, forecasts, and operating KPIs to make sound business decisions.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, coach, and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong executive communication, customer relationships, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to meet company insurability requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
  • Experience with RentalMan or another rental management platform.
  • Multi-state operating and regulatory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define the go-to-market strategy, including target sectors and customers, service offerings, pricing, branch expansion, and 12- and 24-month revenue plans.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, pricing, capital allocation, and performance management for a multi-million-dollar business.
  • Build and optimize the construction fleet, including excavators, loaders, lifts, compaction equipment, and related assets. Drive utilization, uptime, maintenance, lifecycle management, and return on invested capital.
  • Establish disciplined, scalable processes for dispatch, inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, billing, compliance, and customer support.
  • Build durable relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and public-sector agencies. Develop programs that drive customer retention, fleet utilization, and profitable growth.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team with clear expectations, accountability, and a strong service culture.
  • Champion a safety-first operating culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, emissions, and applicable state and local requirements.
