About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an experienced General Manager 4 - Schools to lead the food service programs at Stratford Public Schools in Stratford, CT. This district includes 13 academic buildings and a central district office, serving nearly 7,000 students and supported by more than 1,000 faculty and staff across 14 sites. The General Manager will oversee all USDA‑compliant breakfast and lunch programs, ensuring students receive nutritious, high‑quality meals every day. This leader will champion operational excellence, maintain full regulatory compliance, and continuously elevate the dining experience across a diverse and dynamic school community. This position manages a large hourly team, and prior union experience is strongly preferred. Requirements

  • at least two years of relevant K12 school nutrition programs experience as required by the USDA
  • ability to direct others in a high-volume union busin ess
  • have strong financial acumen and budgeting background
  • experience driving employee engagement and student satisfaction through strong leadership skills
  • knowledge of client contracts and ability to ensure compliance
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • Minimum Education Requirement – Associate’s degree, with academic major in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field
  • Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 4 years of relevant school nutrition programs experience
