About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment, facilities, and manufacturing systems to support safe and efficient operations. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment. This role works Mon- Fri, 3pm to 1:30am. Every Q2 ALS employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures. Showing respect and pride for facilities and equipment. Being responsible – on time for work, and take breaks during designated times. Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.

Requirements

  • General building and grounds maintenance experience
  • Experience operating small equipment
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Valid Class 5 and clean Driver’s Abstract

Responsibilities

  • Follow manufacturing methods to perform normal job tasks in a safe manner.
  • Perform general clean up to keep work area clean and organized.
  • Responsible for performing the equipment and facility preventative maintenance as scheduled.
  • Inform Planning and Production for the scheduled PM.
  • Support manufacturing team for shorter unplanned downtime.
  • Perform work involving skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with programming adjustments when needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.
