About The Position

This role is responsible for various maintenance tasks within a warehouse distribution center. Key functions include delivering cartons, managing waste cartons, operating machinery like the Baylor machine, sweeping floors, handling lift truck batteries, assisting with office furniture moves, performing light painting, and maintaining outdoor grounds. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively in English, and possess basic mathematical skills. The work environment is a fast-paced warehouse with exposure to vibrations, dust, and moving machinery, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Requirements

  • Operation of electric forklifts (Reach Truck, Stock Picker, Dock Loader)
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment
  • Able to take direction and communicate in English
  • Must be able to stand up to 10 hours in a day.
  • Must be able to walk up to 8 hours.
  • Will continuously reach up and out.
  • Will occasionally climb.
  • Will occasionally push/pull from 11 to 75 pounds.
  • Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 35 to 50 pounds.
  • Will frequently lift to 50 pounds and occasionally lift to 75 pounds.
  • Will occasionally have repetitive foot movement.
  • Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation.
  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to wear gloves occasionally.
  • Must have communication skills in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Must be proficient in mathematics. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers Cartons for use on production lines.
  • Picks up waste cartons, loads, and operates Baylor machine.
  • Sweeps floors by hand or by using floor sweeping machine.
  • Exchanges and hooks up depleted lift truck batteries.
  • Aids in the moving of office furniture.
  • Helps with light painting projects clean-up of outdoor grounds.
  • Assist with company related functions.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
