About The Position

This position is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks. The role requires the ability to read and comprehend work orders, instruction manuals, and schematic drawings. Documentation of all information relating to work orders and required reports is essential. The individual will interact professionally with administrators, other school employees, students, and the general public, while adhering to established working hours and maintaining regular attendance. The job involves physical tasks such as lifting, maneuvering objects, climbing ladders and scaffolds, and operating various tools and equipment. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor conditions, with potential exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, oils, chemicals, and equipment noise. The role may also require working in close quarters and in proximity to hazardous moving mechanical parts and electrical currents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Punctuality and adherence to established working hours
  • Regular attendance without undue absenteeism
  • Productivity and effective time management
  • Ability to lift, maneuver and carry medium to heavy objects (i.e., 50-75 lbs)
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds (2 story structures)
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment, vehicles, etc.
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Good visual acuity
  • Ability to function in close quarters (i.e., small enclosed rooms, narrow aisles, mechanical lofts, crawl spaces, man holes, etc.)
  • Ability to function in proximity to hazardous moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, ladders, scaffolds, power tools, mechanical equipment, tractors, forklifts, etc.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, write, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
