About The Position

The General Maintenance position within the Accommodation and Food Services industry is pivotal to ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of facility infrastructure. This role focuses on performing a wide range of maintenance tasks that support the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of the property. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving maintenance issues promptly to minimize disruption to guests and staff. By maintaining equipment, fixtures, and building systems, the role contributes directly to a positive guest experience and operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position ensures that the facility remains in excellent condition, compliant with safety standards, and ready to meet the dynamic needs of the hospitality environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field, preferably within the accommodation or food service industry.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to the hospitality industry.
• Ability to perform minor carpentry and painting tasks.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to provide effective and timely repairs.
• Maintain and repair building structures, including walls, doors, windows, and flooring, to uphold safety and appearance standards.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or large-scale maintenance projects as needed.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, materials used, and equipment status to support operational planning and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining equipment and facilities for special events or operational changes.
