About The Position

Nugent Sand is seeking a General Maintenance team member to help keep its sand plant and equipment operating safely and reliably. The company produces industrial lake sand in Muskegon by dredging, washing, drying, screening, and blending sand into specialized products.

This hands-on role involves inspecting equipment, troubleshooting problems, performing repairs and preventative maintenance, replacing worn parts, and carrying out welding and basic fabrication. The employee will work with the Plant Foreman to maintain machinery used to wash, dry, screen, and move sand. The work includes outdoor duties and may involve different hours or overtime to complete repairs outside production hours. Training will be conducted on first shift; the position is for second and third shifts.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect plant equipment and troubleshoot problems.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to help prevent breakdowns.
• Maintain machinery used to wash, dry, screen, and move sand, working with the Plant Foreman.
• Replace worn parts.
• Perform welding and basic fabrication.
• Complete repairs outside production hours when needed.
