About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the building's physical appearance and working order, including the functionality and general upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The position ensures the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment, and safety features in accordance with established procedures and budgets. Additionally, it involves keeping maintenance and engineering storerooms and work areas clean and orderly, properly storing all tools, equipment, and spare parts, and taking proper care of tools and equipment used for tasks. The role requires timely and professional completion of delegated work orders and immediate reporting and addressing of unsafe conditions. Other tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete all types of work orders generated for engineering
  • Must have a general understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to effectively perform painting, woodworking, and general carpentry
  • Ability to perform maintenance and general repair
  • Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations
  • Available to work weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Journeymen level experience or equivalent in a trade or 2+ years in building maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the building’s physical appearance and working order
  • Assist with the functionality and general upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Ensure the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment, and safety features
  • Keep all maintenance and engineering storerooms and work areas clean and orderly
  • Store all tools, equipment, and spare parts in proper locations
  • Responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment
  • Complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Report and address unsafe conditions immediately
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
