The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of preventative maintenance and general maintenance tasks for buildings, systems, equipment, and machinery. This position requires practical skill and knowledge in trades such as HVAC, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, and masonry. The role involves performing assigned general maintenance duties to maintain and repair campus buildings, structures, machinery, and equipment, with a focus on preventative maintenance for large industrial HVAC systems. Responsibilities include filter and belt changes, mechanical adjustments, cleaning, greasing, taking readings, carpentry, electrical repairs, plaster and drywall work, plumbing repairs, painting, concrete and flooring repairs, door and window maintenance, and roofing repairs. The position also requires responding to facility issues, maintaining good customer service relationships, performing work efficiently, maintaining accurate records, and potentially working extended hours. The role may involve assisting in inspections, maintaining tools and equipment, making emergency repairs, attending training, and inspecting machinery. Other related duties may be assigned.
