Under minimal supervision, the General Maintenance Worker is responsible for providing general cleaning, maintenance, and set-up/tear-down services for the campus building and events (excluding the ice arena). The typical hours for this position are during the day or early evening, specifically from 9:00am to 5:30pm, though this can vary based on campus needs. All buildings and grounds staff are required to work outside their normal hours to support pre-scheduled community-wide events such as Legacy Day, Great Blake Get Together, and Commencement Week. The Blake School is a pre-kindergarten through grade 12, co-educational, nonsectarian, independent day school, enrolling 1,277 students from 56 Twin Cities-area communities. Established in 1900, the school features facilities and campuses tailored for specific developmental ages. Blake's mission is to provide a dynamic, academically challenging education within a diverse and supportive community, committed to pluralism and shared values. Students engage in an integrated program of academic, artistic, and athletic activities, preparing them for college, lifelong learning, and purposeful lives as community and global citizens. The school values diversity across various dimensions, including race, ethnicity, national origin, geography, religion, gender, affectional or sexual orientation, age, physical ability, and marital, parental, or economic status, and actively seeks individuals who contribute to a diverse community.
