Performs routine and complex semi-skilled work in one or more skilled trades including general construction and maintenance, requiring limited supervision and a higher degree of skill. Depending on assignment, duties may include general and limited tasks in the construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of buildings, apparatus, and facilities with close supervision. This role also involves general painting applications, preparation and repair of surfaces, general air conditioning and heating repair, preventive maintenance duties for various equipment, and general plumbing repair and installation. Additionally, it may encompass general carpentry repair and renovation, general electrical repair and renovation, installation and repair of underground drainage piping, concrete work, grade shots for pipe and structure installation, and small engine repair. Work may also be related to utility infrastructure at water/wastewater plants, water main installs and maintenance, lift station operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and structural components. Preventive maintenance duties such as cleaning and replacing light ballasts are also included. The role may assist with utilities like meter installation, water/sewer line locates, and lift station troubleshooting. Venue setup for events, including audio/visual equipment operation, lighting systems, and installation of event-specific equipment, is also a potential responsibility. The worker will operate associated equipment, including medium-size construction equipment and vehicles, and load/unload trailer equipment and materials. Adherence to Federal, State, County, and Local ordinances is required. The position may involve work found in the Maintenance Worker classification series, responding to emergency situations, and performing other duties as required.
