The General Maintenance Worker inspects and identifies areas, equipment, or machines in need of repair. They troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs, plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals, and perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. This role also involves performing routine maintenance on building systems, cleaning and assisting with facility upkeep, ensuring prompt and appropriate assistance to inmates in the event of injury, illness, and emotional trauma, and ordering supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Other related duties may be assigned.
