Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • At least two (2) years’ of experience performing maintenance in a Facilities environment.
  • Experience performing general maintenance, repair, demolition, and minor construction tasks across a variety of facility types.
  • Knowledge of building systems including electrical distribution, HVAC support components, fire protection elements, grounding devices, and water distribution systems.
  • Ability to follow preventive maintenance schedules and document maintenance activities.
  • Ability to safely operate general maintenance tools, carpentry tools, and power equipment.
  • Training that meets Federal, GEPA, and Host Installation requirements for environmental and safety compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade certifications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or carpentry.
  • Competency in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor construction, repair, alteration, and demolition tasks across FOS, latrines, and other temporary facilities.
  • Install and repair structural components including interior/exterior finishes, roofing, foundations, decking, steps, windows, and doors.
  • Perform O&M tasks including repair, replacement, alteration, demolition, and minor construction at all sites.
  • Maintain interior/exterior finishes, roofing, foundations, structural components, signs, fences, and locks.
  • Repair building systems including HVAC support tasks, fire protection features, compressed air systems, electrical distribution, grounding devices, and water distribution systems.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs including weekly, monthly, and semi-annual facility servicing.
  • Conduct routine exterior cleaning to minimize corrosion on equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment remain free of mold and mildew through routine treatment and preventative measures.
  • Mitigate and remove mold/mildew no later than five working days after identification or notification.
  • Execute stand-alone demolition tasks on structures and components as required.
  • Perform minor construction to repair or replace damaged facility components aligned with PWS environmental approvals.
  • Assist with movement, placement, anchoring, and securing of FOS units, latrines, trailers, and temporary structures.
  • Support fencing installation and repair including 6ft chain link panels, screening mesh, and gate assemblies.
  • Assist with lumber placement under containers and construction/repair of packing crates using heat-treated ISPM 15 lumber.
  • Support cleaning of Government-furnished containers, trailers, shipping frames, and associated equipment for USDA inspection compliance.
  • Respond to emergency work requests within one hour; complete emergency repairs within 24 hours.
  • Complete urgent repairs within five working days and routine repairs within thirty calendar days.
  • Document repairs and assist with monthly O&M status reporting.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Federal, GEPA, DoD, Service Branch, EM 385-1-1, and host installation regulations.
  • Coordinate environmental review and approvals with Project Manager, COR, and AOFN prior to initiating O&M, demolition, or minor construction tasks.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
