About The Position

Tessera is seeking a reliable and hard-working General Maintenance Worker with a helpful attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Assist skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or masonry work. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of building, ground, and equipment. Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, inform the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determine customer needs. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints. Ensure completed work meets quality control standards. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors. Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs, estimate completion dates and additional material requirements. Follows all Safety Procedures and Policies.

Requirements

  • Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work in and contribute to a team.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in a variety of different environments including high places.
  • Must have good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and a good sense of balance.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
  • Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • All Contractor employees shall be legal U.S. residents.
  • The Contractor personnel shall be able to communicate clearly in the English language.

  • 1 year of experience in general maintenance/construction work is preferred.
