About The Position

The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment. Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • No employee or representative of the Contractor will be admitted to the site of work unless satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship is furnished.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
  • Ability to learn a wide variety of building and ground maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work.
  • Clean roof drains and gutters.
  • Responsible for replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
  • Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Caulking plumbing kitchen fixtures
  • Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Use portable handheld electronic devices to manage work.
  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
  • Communicate with the scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
