About The Position

Nawa Professional Services is seeking a dependable, hands-on General Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting school facilities in the Burton area. This position is responsible for general maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, and facility support to help keep our schools safe, functional, and well maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 1 year of general maintenance or related experience preferred
  • Experience operating zero-turn mowers and string trimmers (weed whips)
  • Experience with light bulb replacement and ballast repairs
  • Experience with snow removal and snowplow operation
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Clean driving record, current vehicle registration, and personal auto insurance
  • Ability to pass required background checks, including criminal history and driving record checks, and drug screening
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, mowers, snowplows, and other maintenance equipment
  • Ability to provide and maintain basic personal power tools needed for the position, including a drill, impact gun, bits, and measuring tape
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout assigned school facilities
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions
  • Replace light bulbs and perform ballast repairs as needed
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Operate zero-turn mowers and string trimmers (weed whips)
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance and maintain exterior areas of assigned facilities
  • Perform snow and ice removal, including shoveling and operating snowplows and related equipment
  • Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, checklists, and other required records
  • Communicate maintenance concerns and completed work to supervisors and appropriate facility personnel
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and equipment operating instructions
  • Perform other maintenance and facility-related tasks as assigned
