About The Position

Performs various duties involving minor repairs of equipment, furniture, walls, etc. and maintenance surveillance rounds throughout the hospital. Records gauge readings, observes general operating conditions etc., of boilers and auxiliary equipment, kitchen equipment, etc. Notes abnormalities in equipment operation, takes corrective action and/or calls for additional assistance as needed.

Requirements

High School Education or Equivalency preferred.
2 or more years in a maintenance role is preferred.
1 or more years of healthcare facility experience is preferred.
Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.

Responsibilities

Performs a wide range of non-technical preventive maintenance and repairs for assigned facility and/or department to include basic plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning services.
May be required to perform tasks of the other trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter and/or locksmith.
Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Prepares and maintains logs, records and charts.
Provides emergency maintenance as requested.
Maintains work area to ensure a clean and safe environment. Adheres to safety requirements as required.
Participates and attends departmental meetings and training. Maintains licensure as required.
Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.
