Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician IV to join their operations & maintenance team. This position will start as a three-month contract, with the potential for extension based on performance and evolving business needs. It offers an excellent opportunity to join the organization and potentially transition into a longer-term role with the team. This General Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for providing advanced expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on facility systems in a large industrial environment, including clean rooms. The role requires self-motivation and strong organizational/time management skills. The technician must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot industrial facility equipment and systems such as HVAC, Compressors, Chillers, robotics, pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, air handlers, and other equipment. They will perform all aspects of preventive and corrective electrical/mechanical maintenance on industrial systems, including HVAC, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, filtration systems, and coolant systems. The technician must identify and correct safety issues, perform independent equipment evaluations, and general maintenance. They will safely perform functions by following safety guidelines like job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing required PPE. The role involves understanding and enforcing company policies and safety regulations. A strong electrical skill set is required, including experience with control systems and 480V systems. Prior experience with air compressors, air dryers, and HVAC systems in a production setting is also required. The technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC machinery, cooling systems, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems, conveyors, and overhead cranes. They will conduct preventive maintenance inspections and actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and alignments. Preventive maintenance on process/production equipment will be performed as scheduled in the CMMS. Troubleshooting and repair of heat exchange equipment, welding, fabrication, and plumbing/hydraulic hose repairs are also part of the duties. Electrical issues will be troubleshot and repaired. The technician will safely operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes, utilizing safe rigging and lifting techniques. They will respond to customer work orders, provide service and feedback, and ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards. Recommendations for improving maintenance methods and equipment performance will be made. Work problems will be analyzed and resolved, or assistance will be provided to other workers. Various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments will be used to provide energy efficiency solutions. A variety of equipment, including hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware, will be operated. A strict schedule will be maintained while demonstrating flexibility in daily activities and scheduling for customer benefit. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
