About The Position

Amentum is seeking an entry level Facility Maintenance Technician II to support our Wash Bay operation team in East Peoria, IL! Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; hours may vary based on business demand. This position will have the opportunity to assist and job shadow more senior technicians, improving job skill and gaining industry exposure, while primarily performing Wash Bay activities and routine preventive maintenance (inspections, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and associated technical maintenance tasks) on the buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures and systems in a proving grounds environment. Ideal candidates demonstrate prior customer service, time management, organizational, leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to safely utilize a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Complete machine cleaning pursuant to Client timelines and cleanliness standards.
  • Regularly communicate directly with the Client to set priority-based schedule.
  • Drive all Heavy Equipment to and from Wash Bay.
  • Recognize and report any issues associated with the Wash Bay operations.
  • Electronically and manually operate high pressure wash cannons and/or wands to clean earthmoving equipment and fleet vehicles (light duty trucks and cars)
  • Drive personnel shuttle vehicles, maintain trash, operate fork trucks and floor sweepers, and perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • Assists the team with a variety of industrial facility and production system repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Assists co-workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Assists the team with maintaining, operating and troubleshooting systems and equipment such as overhead door systems, pumps, piping, seals and valves.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates a variety of equipment, including hand tools.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
