About The Position

Sentara Health is currently seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic at our Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a Full-Time position with 40 hours per week, working the Day shift. On-call duty is required. As a General Maintenance Mechanic with Sentara, you will perform general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other items. We are looking for a candidate who has a positive attitude, is willing and eager to learn, and can be trained easily. Our ideal candidate is an individual who has a high work ethic, is dependable, reliable, team-oriented, and has patience, compassion and understanding of what it takes to work in a hospital environment around patients.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
One year of work experience in general maintenance (e.g., facility or residential maintenance, contractor, carpentry, laborer, or painter).
Valid and Current Driver’s License.
