General Maintenance Mechanic
About The Position
Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Mechanic. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on a rotating shift, defined as Essential Personnel. The primary work location is Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH) in Norfolk, Virginia. The role involves performing general maintenance on all aspects of the building structure and systems, including floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Training will be provided during 2nd shift (2:30 PM- 11:00 PM) and/or 1st shift (7:00 AM- 3:30 PM). Primary responsibilities include responding to elevator, tube station, and fire alarm trouble calls. Qualified external candidates are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License (VA or NC)
- At least 1 full years of General Maintenance experience
Nice To Haves
- Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I and Type II preferred or Universal preferred.
Responsibilities
