About The Position

The purpose of this role is to repair and maintain the physical structure of the resort and provide technical and administrative support to the Maintenance Dept. This position involves performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities using hand tools. It also includes preventative maintenance for guest rooms, ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool, and hot tub. The role requires plumbing repair, laundry equipment repairs, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply, and monitoring energy conservation. Replacing air conditioner filters and repairing vacuum cleaners and other small equipment are also key duties. The engineer must respond to alarms, understand and respond to guest needs professionally, and report suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and practicing safe work habits are essential. The position also involves cross-training and performing other tasks as directed.

Requirements

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.

Must be able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and design plans of all trades.
Three to five years of experience in general building trades, with a technical building maintenance (commercial) background preferred.
Ability to provide and maintain a valid driver's license as the position may require the operation of motorized and electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

Perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool, and hot tub.
Perform plumbing repair and laundry equipment repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply.
Monitor energy conservation.
Replace air conditioner filters.
Repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause, determine emergency status, and report to the Front Desk with findings.
Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
Always maintain the cleanliness of work areas.
Practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Use the lockout/tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
Assist with any guest inquiry.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Complete safety training and certifications.
Perform any other duties as requested by direct and indirect supervisors.
