About The Position

This role is responsible for scheduling maintenance of facility systems to ensure their integrity. This includes boiler systems, pumps, ventilation systems, plumbing, water and sewage systems, the Energy Management System (EMS), and other building components. The engineer will use service manuals, technical manuals, and blueprints for preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of systems. Adherence to sound engineering practices, building codes, and safety precautions is required. The position also involves performing miscellaneous minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, patching holes, painting, changing air conditioning filters, and washing common area carpets. Preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, is also a key responsibility. Daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities must be maintained. Communication with the Director of Residences/Residences Manager is necessary to resolve maintenance issues. The role also requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies, reporting of maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completion of safety training and certifications. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and ensuring confidentiality are also part of the job. The engineer will welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guest service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities. Clear and professional communication, positive working relationships, and appropriate responses to employee concerns are expected. Quality expectations and standards must be met. Physical requirements include reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, visually inspecting tools/equipment/machines, moving/lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, assisting with objects over 100 pounds, moving up and down stairs/ramps/ladders, and grasping/turning/manipulating objects of varying size and weight. Other reasonable job duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • First Class Stationary Engineer’s Operating License

Responsibilities
