About The Position

Join our team of Life Changers! UPMC is hiring a Full-time, HVAC employee to support the West Shore hospital. This position is also a great opportunity for a recent trade school grad or someone early in their maintenance career or someone that is very seasoned within general maintenance. Schedule is Wednesday-Saturday. Hours: 9:00pm-7:00am. Will include holidays that land on scheduled days. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Two years general maintenance-related work experience OR completion of a trade school required.
Military experience considered
Must have working knowledge of plumbing, steam fitting and sheet metal work.
Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

Completion of a trade school program is preferred.
One year of general maintenance-related work experience is preferred.
High School diploma with three-year apprenticeship in institutional refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation systems is required.
Completion of a recognized course in institutional refrigeration and air conditioning may be substituted year for year for apprenticeship and experience, or equivalent, such as on-the-job training.
Associates degree from an accredited trade school or completion of an associated trade specific apprentice program, (i.e., HVAC, Electrician, Steam Fitter, etc.).

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.
Perform specific preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.
Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor daily.
Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
Clean, paint, and maintain mechanical and plant rooms/centers.
Minor preventive maintenance of chillers, boilers and cooling towers.
Filter changes in air handlers, terminal devices and fan coils.
Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
