About The Position
Introduction: Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this direct full-time General Machinist IV position. This role is going to be onsite in Middletown, CT. General Machinist IV Responsibilities: Work under the direction of the Group Leader or Supervisor with minimal supervision to perform diversified machining operations with exact tolerances and finish specifications Apply 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles in daily work practices Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and follow written and verbal instructions while adhering to shop policies and quality standards Achieve required contours, dimensions, and finish specifications Modify operational sequences to adjust machining speeds and frequency of cuts to improve efficiency Set up CNC Swiss Screw equipment to perform machining sequences Operate a variety of CNC and manual machines Edit and verify machine programming Determine operational and tooling sequences Select appropriate feeds, speeds, and tooling Maintain tight tolerances consistently to four decimal places Perform general shop work, including deburring and minor maintenance duties Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Inspect own work using gauges and inspection equipment to ensure maximum quality Conduct frequent inspections of production work to maintain quality standards and prevent scrap or rework Maintain Operator Acceptance Program (OAP) certification to inspect own work using hand tools and measuring instruments Report defective parts, materials, or unusual conditions to the Group Leader or Supervisor Details: General Machinist IV Requirements: Over 5 years of CNC Machining experience to qualify. Use of elementary geometry, algebra and trigonometric principles together with the use of drawings, specifications, charts and tables. Ability to use various types of precision measuring tools and instruments. Familiarity with shop practices, inspection and safety. Able to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T. Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform activities, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes within standardized limitations. Requirements
- Over 5 years of CNC Machining experience to qualify.
